The sights and smell of a big city!

We finally made it to Toronto a few days ago and the first two things we noticed immediately were the sounds and smells of the big city!  Coming from the north where the noisiest things are the kids playing outside or snowmachines passing by, it takes a few days for us to adjust to the constant noise of a big city.  And then there are are the smells!!  There are so many different smells and odours coming from the restaurants, the cars and people that our senses are overwhelmed and by the end of the week, we are craving for the quiet of the north.

For us the city has become a place to visit, see family and friends, visit all the ‘exotic’ restaurants, food and marvel at how cheap groceries are.  On this trip we also got to spend some time at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and explored some of the many stores on Yonge Street, the longest street in the world!

We ‘escaped’ the city for a few days and are hanging out at the family cottage on Lake Huron, near Southampton enjoying some unusual chilly weather for this time of year and lots of snow to remind us of home!~Sophia and Rob
